Boom! We cashed another 3-0 sweep in strikeout props on Tuesday night, bringing our record to 5-1 on the week and 8-1 in our last nine plays. Let's keep it rolling with three more K props for Wednesday's MLB slate.
Braves vs. Astros, 2:10 p.m. ET
Let's start our day off with a plus-money shot. Max Fried ranks in the 27th percentile in strikeout rate (17.9 percent) and the 46th percentile in whiff rate (24.2 percent) to start the season, per Baseball Savant. The left-hander is on pace to produce his lowest whiff rate since his rookie year in 2017, and he'll be hard-pressed to improve that number against the Houston Astros. Houston has a 17.8 percent strikeout rate and a .798 OPS against lefties this season, and current Astros batters have a minuscule 14.3 percent K rate in 49 combined plate appearances against Fried.
Reds vs. Mariners, 4:10 p.m. ET
Bryce Miller is off to a solid start with 17 strikeouts and a 23.6 percent K rate through his first three starts of the season, and he's been even better than those numbers suggest. The Seattle Mariners starter ranks 10th in MLB among qualified pitchers in whiff rate (33.3 percent), which is up big time from his 24.1 percent whiff rate last season. The Cincinnati Reds have the sixth-highest strikeout rate (25.7 percent) in the league this year, and that number climbs to 29.9 percent against righties.
Angels vs. Rays, 6:50 p.m. ET
Put some respect on Reid Detmers's name! Through three starts in 2024, Detmers has racked up 26 strikeouts and given up only two earned runs. The left-hander ranks in the 97th percentile in strikeout rate (40.6 percent) and the 94th percentile in whiff rate (37.3 percent), and his 65.5 percent zone contact rate is by far the best mark of his career. The Tampa Bay Rays rank 26th in MLB in zone contact rate and 28th in chase rate, and they're striking out in 26.8 percent of their at-bats against left-handers. This over is juiced to the moon, but we still love it.
