The Cleveland Guardians have largely underperformed both on offense, defense, and arguably with some pitchers up to this point of the season. But there's been one player who's been nothing but consistent each time his name is called.

That's relief pitcher Xzavion Curry .

Multiple times this season, Curry has come into the game to save the bullpen in lopsided games that don't have the Guardians on the winning end. Some of his most notable performances were on April 11 against New York and on April 24 against Colorado pitching 3.1 scoreless innings.

Another stellar performance to add to that list is Curry's outing against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday afternoon. The relief pitcher came into the game and pitched the sixth, seventh, and eighth inning without allowing a run and only giving up two hits.

Curry iced the game after the Cardinals hit three solo home runs to take the lead early on. This perfectly set up Jose Ramirez's walk-off in the ninth inning.

It was also Curry's first career Big League win marking a massive accomplishment in his young career. A well-deserved accomplishment that's been a long-time coming.

After the game, Xzvion said this about his Major League victory:

"It feels amazing, honestly, I'm glad that I was able to come in and hold (the Cardinals) to where they were. They have some good hitters in their lineup. So for us getting a win, and me getting my first Major League win, I'd say that's a good feeling."

Curry went on to talk about his role as the long-relief man out of the bullpen and starting to be put in high-leverage situations:

"That feels good that I'm getting the trust from the coaches and I will continue to go out there and work every day and still try to get better so I can keep gaining their trust and keep going out there and doing what the team needs me to do."

Is it time for Curry to be put in more intense situations? He seems to think so saying with a smile, "I like pressure. I say pressure either busts pipes or creates diamonds, and I like to shine."
